Bita Phillips
Bita PhillipsIn the early 60's, Bita began formal x-ray training in Farmington, NM even before she graduated from high school. While doing x-rays for these 40-some years, it never felt like an exact fit to Bita. That restlessness led her to explore other arenas – nursing, hematology, bacteriology/microbiology at ASU. But about seven years ago she finally discovered what she really want to be when she grew up. Bita has found her niche in bone densitometry. It means she gets to combine computers, radiology, education, and technology – things that fascinated and fulfilled her.

Bita and her husband just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, they have one daughter who lives here in Scottsdale and their oldest daughter and a grandson live in Manhattan Beach, CA. They are both like Bita – extremely independent.

Bita's passions are cats, cooking and following artistic callings in all medias: metal, glass, fiber, and clay. She spends any free time she has at her property up on the Rim in Pinedale. Her husband is single-handedly rebuilding and reforesting their place after the Rodeo-Chediski fire. They are both challenged by environmental issues and re-purposing. In the new house they have placed emphasis on Green building and earth-friendly, non-combustible elements. Her husband began rescuing feral cats several years ago. They are both excited about and planning an enclosed cat sanctuary in their new home and yard.
