Camille Gahr recently moved from San Diego to Arizona. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her two Daschunds – Cabo and Lu Lu, last but not least her fiancee Jerry. Camille is a certified laser technician and clinical aesthetician. Camille is one of the few technicians in the Valley that is also a clinical laser instructor at the nationally recognized National Laser Institute. On a monthly basis, she teaches doctors, nurses, aestheticians, and others how to preform safe and effective laser treatments. She strives to be on the forefront in the industry to see what actually works and what does not. Our skin is the largest organ on our body and we should spend every minute loving the skin were in.

The types of treatments that we provide at Dr. Wilson's office are:
LightSheer (Laser Hair Removal) — LightSheer treatments are safe, non-evasive, long-term solutions to unwanted hair on all body parts and any skin type. Say "goodbye" to messy creams and temporary solutions! In an hour or less, you will begin to have smoother, sleeker skin. You can even resume your regular activities immediately following treatment. It's that easy!
IPL Photo Rejuvenation — Scientifically proven "pulsed light" technology to rejuvenate the skin. Decreasing redness, brown spots and fine lines while shrinking pores. Also, treats medical conditions such as rosaceae, telangiectasias and melasma. IPL can be applied to any part of the body.
Microdermabrasion — The revolutionary way to re-texturize your skin, add luminosity and clear out those pores. Microdermabrasion introduces small "crystals" delivered under pressure to slough off dead cells and stimulate new cell growth.
Peels — This treatment is an excellent deep cleanser. It dissolves oil by penetrating and cleaning out clogged pores. It diminishes blackheads and pimples. It also prevents new skin blemishes from forming. The skin will immediately feel smoother, softer, and appear more evenly pigmented.
Sclerotherapy/Laser Vein Treatment — Non-surgical treatment for varicose veins and spider veins. With the sclerotherapy technique, we use a fine needle to inject a small amount of a solution into the affected vein. The sclerosant solution causes the vein to seal up and disappear. With the laser vein treatment, the laser throws heat into the vessel collapsing it onto its self and the vein disappearing.
Restylane — Restylane is made in Sweden, a nation known for health, nature and beauty. Since 1996, more than a million people have been successfully treated in more than 60 countries worldwide. It is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin wrinkles and folds. Restylane is also different than traditional collagen because it delivers a longer-lasting effect with virtually no risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction.

How does it work?
Selective Photothermolysis
Selectively delivering light (photo) that converts to heat (thermo), which results in the destruction (lysis) of our target, which is the pigment in the hair.

How many treatments are needed?
Average of 4-6 treatments due to the hair growth cycle. Hair grows in the following 3 stages.
We can only permanently disable the hair follicle when the hair is actively growing since that is the only time which the hair follicle is actually in contact with the bulb, which is the source of hair growth.

Example:
Treatment 1
All hair falls out – 80% will return over 6-10 weeks.
Treatment 2
All hair falls out – 60% will return after 6-10 weeks.
Treatment 3
All hair falls out – 40% will return after 6-10 weeks

| What is IPL?
IPL = Intense Pulsed Light
Visible and near infra-red light, 500-1200 nm
- Efficacious
- Flexible
- Safe
How IPL Works
Selective Photothermolysis
- Selective
Specially selected wavelengths of light penetrate the skin, reaching the target (hemoglobin, melanin) with minimal epidermal/dermal absorption
- Photothermo
The light is converted to heat in the target
- Lysis
Heat coagulates the proteins in the target and is conducted to the cells around, causing mechanical damage; clearance by immune system cells
- Specially selected wavelengths of light penetrate the skin
- Target (hemoglobin, melanin) absorbs the light with minimal epidermal/dermal absorption
- Light is converted to heat, destroying the vessel or lesion
- Damaged tissue is removed by the body

What IPL Can Do
Type I Skin Treatments Using Photorejuvenation
- Erythema/Flushing
- Rosacea symptoms
- Telangiectasia
- Hyperpigmentation
- Melasma
- Photoaging

Pigmentary Conditions
Why treat pigmentary conditions?
- 75% of the US population between the ages of 35 and 65 have some type of treatable pigmented lesion.

| IPL vs. Laser |
|
|
|
|
|
| Laser |
|
IPL |
- Single wavelength targets single peak of melanin and hemoglobin's absorption spectra to destroy target
- Wavelength cannot be adjusted for individualized treatment
|
|
- Multiple wavelengths target multiple peaks of melanin and hemoglobin's absorption spectra to destroy target
- Wavelengths can be optimized to individuals' skin types and conditions, using filters
- Minimal ocular hazard
- No down-time, nonablative procedure with minimal side-effects
